R-e-volution
has actively participated in
the following Strategic Sourcing Opportunity Assessments and engagements:
-
Aon Insurance (1998) –
for this large international insurance company’s United Kingdom
operations, Eugene Klopper actively participated in the sourcing of
company cars, as well as mobile phones. The latter sourcing initiative
realised a saving in excess of 30% on an annual spend of R9million.
-
Anglo Platinum (1998/9) –
participated in a Strategic Sourcing Opportunity Assessment that
resulted in a project that realised savings in excess of R50million
per annum. The Assessment focused on developing a business case for a
Strategic Sourcing project, based on a "coding tree" to
categorise Anglo Platinum expenditure, the development of high-level
sourcing strategies and the potential benefits that could be derived
from the implementation of the said strategies, as well as the costs
associated with the implementation of such a programme.
-
Naspers Group
(2000 - current) – participated in an in-depth analysis
for the establishment of an e-procurement solution for the group
(comprising Media24, Nasbook, Educor, Multichoice, M-Net, Supersport
and M-Web). As a result of the assessment a business case was
developed, leading to the implementation of Project Vortal during
2001. Project Vortal was key to the establishment of M-Web
CommerceZone, currently one of the leading e-procurement portals in
South Africa with transactions in excess R4.5billion, since June 2001
and a monthly average transaction volume of R300million.
-
Project
Vortal implemented an e-procurement
solution for the Naspers Group, based on the Commerce One software and
a Strategic Sourcing Programme that realised substantive
financial benefits. R-e-volution,
as part of the A.T. Kearney (the leading strategic sourcing consulting
firm in the world with annual revenues derived from strategic sourcing
exceeding $300million per annum) sourcing team, was instrumental in
realising savings in the Facility Services Sourcing Group
(covering Security, Cleaning, Electrical, Air Conditioning and Office
Alteration services, realising savings in excess of R6million per
annum), as well as Travel Services (Travel Agency, Air Travel, Car
rental and Hotel Accommodation), which resulted in savings in excess
of R12million per annum.
-
Subsequently R-e-volution
worked with M-Web
CommerceZone to fully implement Frame Agreements with suppliers, as
well as develop and embed ongoing sourcing management practices.
-
R-e-volution,
having replaced A.T. Kearney as the preferred
supplier of strategic sourcing services, is currently working with
M-Web CommerceZone’s sourcing specialists to strategically source
the second wave of Sourcing Groups – thus an extension of the first
phase of the project. Target benefits for this wave are in excess of
R35million per annum.
-
R-e-volution
and M-Web CommerceZone have
established an alliance which sees R-e-volution
providing Strategic Sourcing services to M-Web CommerceZone for the
external clients of CommerceZone on an as needed basis. R-e-volution
is, to this effect, in the final stages of a
project to source goods and services for The Industry (an consortium
of 20 stills production companies, based in Cape Town). The scope of
the project covers travel services, including air travel, car rental,
hotel accommodation, truck rental, computers and office supplies)
-
Murray & Roberts (2001)
– participated in a Strategic Sourcing Opportunity Assessment with
A.T. Kearney, which resulted in a project business case with potential
benefits in excess of R90million per annum.
-
DNA Jumpoint
(2002) - R-e-volution
is providing thought leadership to DNA Jumpoint as they are developing
the procurement organisation, skills and capabilities to enable Murray
& Roberts to realise the benefits identified in the A.T. Kearney
